FACS ran your agency for decades. Finvi is building something else now.
The Flexible Automated Collection System shipped in 1984 and carried more licensed seats than Artiva RM as recently as the vendor's own court exhibits. It also runs on InterSystems Caché, needs Caché developers to get data out, and sits behind Velosidy in its vendor's plans. Here is what leaving actually involves.
- Accounts, debtors & balances
- Payment history, notes & activity
- Active payment arrangements
- Stored cards & ACH, via your processor
- Compliance flags & audit trail
Migrating from FACS (Flexible Automated Collection System, by Ontario Systems (Finvi)) → Resolvah
What is happening at FACS.
Dated and sourced. The things a buyer should know before deciding whether to stay.
- 2008
Ontario Systems itself describes FACS as its legacy platform.
- 2019
Ontario Systems sues Regional Adjustment Bureau in Muncie over a FACS Hosted Agreement. Hosted FACS contracts exist, and their termination terms matter.
- September 2024
Velosidy, Finvi's Oracle Cloud platform, reaches general availability. It is the only new platform Finvi is building; by February 2025 nearly a dozen migrations are signed.
- 2024 to 2025
FACS still receives add-ons (Finvi Payments, a TCN dialer integration). Finvi's user conference, run every year since 1985 (AEC, then PowerUp), does not take place in 2025 or 2026.
- January 2025
Five staffing firms post the same remote FACS engineer contract. Caché skills are scarce, and agencies that run FACS employ their own developers for it.
- 2026
Exhibits in a July 2026 Delaware Chancery opinion put FACS at 27,126 licensed seats against 7,054 for Artiva RM around the time of the 2019 New Mountain acquisition. Third-party headcount estimates for Finvi fell from about 706 (2023) to about 549 (March 2026).
Why agencies leave FACS.
FACS is not disappearing tomorrow. There is no public end-of-life date, and Finvi still sells add-ons for it. But its vendor's new product is Velosidy, the skills to run FACS are getting scarce, and the interface is character-mode. Agencies leave before those three things become one problem.
A character-mode interface from the 1980s that new collectors take weeks to learn.
InterSystems Caché underneath. Getting your own data out needs a Caché developer, which is why agencies that run FACS keep one on staff.
The vendor's investment goes to Velosidy. FACS gets integrations, not a future.
Compliance by procedure, and how FACS stores creditor names has featured in two FDCPA opinions.
FACS vs Resolvah
Both can collect a debt. The difference is how it feels to your team, your clients, and the person on the other end.
Staff-driven resolution; self-service was never part of the design.
A warm, self-serve resolution experience. Dee explains the balance in plain language, offers plans people can actually afford, and lets them resolve it 24/7 from any phone.
On-premises heritage, with hosted (ASP) agreements available through Finvi.
Fully cloud-hosted and always current — nothing to install, patch, or keep alive on a server in your office.
Procedure-driven; how the system stores creditor names has featured in two FDCPA opinions.
FDCPA, Reg F, TCPA and state rules built into the everyday workflow, with a complete, exportable audit trail on every account and message.
Basic automation; letters and dialing through integrations such as TCN.
Modern automation and AI assist draft outreach, summarize an account at a glance, and surface the next best step — without taking the human out of it.
Legacy licensing plus hosted fees. Read the termination terms.
Transparent, predictable pricing. The features that make recovery humane aren't locked behind surprise modules or per-seat upcharges.
A vendor whose new platform is Velosidy. Resolvah extracts from Caché with a scripted export and reconciles it with you.
A Resolvah onboarding team works with yours at every step: we map your data, move it, reconcile it against your old system, and work with your payment processor so active arrangements keep running. Four weeks to three months, and we stay on through go-live.
Comparison reflects general, publicly-observable platform characteristics and is provided to help you evaluate a switch. FACS is a trademark of its respective owner; Resolvah is not affiliated with or endorsed by it.
A migration you barely feel.
FACS keeps its data in Caché globals, not tables, so a FACS migration is a scripted export, not a file drop. We build the extraction with you or your Caché developer, pull accounts, transactions, notes and arrangements, and reconcile every total against FACS before cutover. Four weeks to three months, and FACS stays your system of record until you sign off.
Prepare
We scope your portfolio, confirm the export path, and schedule a calm migration window.
Move
Your data comes across — accounts, history, notes and active plans — with a Resolvah specialist on it start to finish.
Validate
We reconcile every total with you against your old system before anyone relies on the new one.
Go live
Your collectors pick up where they left off, and your old system stays put until you're ready to retire it.
Worried about payment tokens? We work directly with your existing payment processor to re-point the vault to Resolvah, so stored cards and ACH come across and every active arrangement keeps running. Nobody re-enters a card, and no plan is interrupted.
The honest list for this system, so cutover day holds no surprises.
- Accounts, debtors and balances
Extracted from Caché with a scripted export and reconciled account by account.
- Payment history
Transaction history comes across and is reconciled by client and by month.
- Notes and audit trail
Notes come out with the scripted export; formatting is the work. We check counts against FACS and show you samples before cutover.
- Active payment arrangements
Scheduled arrangements continue on their cadence.
- Stored cards and ACH
Payments run through Finvi Payments or your own processor. We work with them to re-point the vault to Resolvah, so every plan keeps running.
- Letter images, call recordings and dialer history
Held by your letter vendor and your dialer (often TCN), not FACS. We help you export them for retention, and Resolvah builds the audit trail forward from day one.
- Read your hosted (ASP) agreement's termination and data-return terms before giving notice. Ontario Systems has litigated one.
- Line up the Caché skills. If your FACS developer is a contractor, book them for the export window.
- Ask Finvi in writing what FACS support looks like over your next contract term.
- Export letter images and call recordings for your retention period; they are not in FACS.
Switching from FACS
Is FACS being sunset?
There is no public end-of-life date for FACS, and Finvi still ships add-ons for it. What has changed is where the vendor's investment goes: Velosidy is the only new platform Finvi is building, and its user conference, held every year since 1985, did not happen in 2025 or 2026. Leaving FACS is a choice about the next ten years, not a deadline.
How painful is moving our FACS data to Resolvah?
We make it as painless as we can, and we do it with you rather than to you. Accounts, balances, payment history, notes, active arrangements and compliance flags come across, and we reconcile the totals against FACS before anyone relies on Resolvah. Anything that cannot come across (call recordings held by a dialer vendor, for example) is identified up front, so nothing is a surprise on cutover day.
Will active payment plans keep running when we switch from FACS?
Yes. We work with your existing payment processor to re-point the vault to Resolvah, so stored card and ACH tokens come across, scheduled arrangements continue on their cadence, and no consumer re-enters payment details.
How long does migrating from FACS take?
Four weeks to three months, depending on the size of the portfolio and how FACS stores its data. A Resolvah onboarding specialist scopes it with you first, so you get a date, not a range, before anything moves. FACS stays your system of record until the reconciliation is signed off.
Do we need a Caché developer to move?
It helps, and most FACS shops have one. If you do not, we bring the extraction scripts and work with a Caché contractor for the export window. It is the part of a FACS migration we scope most carefully.
